It's a sad fact of life that most computer games based on films are, well a bit rubbish really. They tend to be fast-coded tie-ins aimed at getting some extra cash out of the parents of youngsters who fall in love with a particular character - after all who needs decent gameplay when you've got such an undiscerning market? With this in mind, I opened Kung Fu Panda with some trepidation. And that was even before I realised it starred the vocal talents of Jack Black who, for my money, is one of the most irritating actors working today.

George Lucas needs to stop. After the horror of the Star Wars prequels, this summer sees Indiana Jones dusted off - with the almost-septugenarian Harrison Ford putting the iconic hat on one more time. The film is, well, disappointingly mediocre.

When a game lands on your desk that has legendary director Steven Spielberg's name on it you think you know what you're going to get. This is the man behind Saving Private Ryan and the Indiana Jones trilogy after all - so there's going to be swashbuckling, lush next gen graphics and an all encompassing story to make the heart swell.

Point and click adventures are the Cinderella of gaming. With your big name releases - GTA4, anything with 'Lego' in the name, or that comes with a shiny new Wii gadget taking all of our attention (and a great slice of disposable income) this summer, the smaller releases are increasingly lost in the noise.

Crazy golf is one of those games that defies logic. Unashamedly tacky, and reliant so often on blind luck rather than any kind of skill, it should be more irritating than entertaining, and yet it remains a stalwart of family fun.
