Heli-Wise pilot Michael Jupp talks to pupils at St Mary’s School, Slough
A HELICOPTER pilot got a bird’s eye view when he visited two schools.
Students at Iver Heath Junior School and St Mary’s, Slough, had a 40-minute chat with the Heli-Wise team before spelling out their school names in giant pupil-letters. The Heli-Wise team took spectacular pictures from the air and sent them to the schools as a souvenir.
Headteacher Vivienne Canter of Iver Heath Juniors, in St Margaret’s Close, said of Thursday’s visit: “The children really enjoyed the visit. They were able to ask questions, which they loved. It was really good fun.”
Deputy headteacher of St Mary’s in Yew Tree Road, Slough, Julia Garrett, said: “It was really exciting.
“It was a really entertaining talk about the helicopter and its features.”
Pupils at St Mary’s followed up with work on a flight theme after the visit on Tuesday last week.
Paul White, director of Heli-Wise Ltd, said: “They were given a flight-related outdoor assembly. Each class is photographed by our helicopter including shots of the school from all angles. This forms part of the 16-page souvenir book which the parents will be able to buy.”
