Top hates are speed, noise and swearing

SPEEDING was among the top concerns to come out of a public meeting about quality of life issues.
A meeting to launch neighbourhood policing in Farnham Royal was held on Monday but only about 20 residents attended to have their say.
Though not representative of the entire area, those at the meeting put their top three priorities as bad language from youths, speeding, and for joint third place, late-night noise and litter.
Members of Devonshire Green Neighbourhood Watch attended.
Mark Roberts said: “I would say speeding from Devonshire Green is a particular concern. It is not a case of if a kids going to get run over, it really is a case of when and how bad.”
Mr Roberts said there is also a problem with youths hanging around. He said: “We as a Neighbourhood Watch have always maintained that a part of the youth problem is that they have nowhere to go and nothing to do. The vandalism is because they are bored.”
Many other problems were raised by residents including under-resourced policing, lack of parenting and poor traffic-flow schemes.
South Bucks Neighbourhood Inspector Stuart Greenfield said: “This is only the start.
“It is about trying to problem solve the areas of concern and looking at more long-term sustainable results. It is really dependent on community involvement.”
A neighbourhood action group is to be set up with representatives from local bodies to try and suggest practical solutions to the problems.
