A FOOD store was robbed by a man wearing a carrier bag over his head.

MK Premier Family Food Store in Slough Road, Iver Heath, was targeted on Wednesday by a man at 10.30am, who entered the store and threatened staff with a sharp object.

He stole items before making off on a bicycle towards an alleyway which leads to St Margaret’s Close and Heath Way. It is thought he was outside the store for up to 20 minutes before the robbery, and appeared to be carrying out minor repairs to his bike.

No one was injured during the incident and police are now appealing for witnesses to the robbery.

DC Gareth Jenkins said: “It’s crucial for anyone with information to come forward and talk to us. It’s very rare for this type of incident to occur in Iver Heath and for that reason we are hoping someone may have seen or heard something suspicious.”

Anyone with information can call DC Jenkins at Burnham CID on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
