POLISH workers in Slough can benefit from a new health and safety community website.
The site offers different kinds of advice to the Polish community, with a specific section highlighting the services of the council's health and safety department.
Slough Borough Council is the first in Berkshire to be asked to provide work related health and safety information for the new website.
Thomas Kilduff, senior environmental health officer for the council, said: "This site is a fantastic resource for the Polish community, and we're pleased to be able to provide vital information that can be easily accessed.
"As part of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) revitalising strategy, we're working with partnership agencies and voluntary and community groups to identify and safeguard vulnerable and high risk groups.
"We identified Slough as having a high percentage of migrant workers, most notably from Poland, and felt the council could reach these residents by providing information on the site.
"It also has links to HSE online, with crucial information on slips and trips, manual handling and preventing falls from heights.
"We're planning to expand on this, and will soon be offering information on food safety, housing advice, trading standards updates and community safety tips."

I read with interest the part about "Housing Advice" for our Migrant worker friends, does this mean now that instead of the 7 year wait for a council place because I am a single guy renting shared accomodation and born in Slough that my wait will be extended for another 4 years while they push our migrant colleagues further up the list ?
This maybe taken as racist and discriminate comments or as I choose to see them a state of fact. Maybe its time to vote another group of socialistic nannies to run SBC instead of the shower that is currently in office.
