Loving tributes for Jane Treasure
By Aamina Zafar
AN ‘OUT-GOING’ teenager who was stabbed to death in Slough on Tuesday has been named as Jane Treasure.
The 19-year-old’s body was discovered by police at a home in Ledger’s Road, Chalvey shortly after 7am.
A post-mortem examination today (Wednesday) revealed that Jane died from stab wounds.
At the time, officers were carrying out enquiries into an earlier attack where a 22-year-old man was stabbed in nearby The Crescent. He is now stable at Wexham Park Hospital.
Emotional tributes have been pouring in for Jane.
A family statement released today, said: “Jane was a motivated, hard-working health care worker and student. Jane had great ambitions to work abroad as a professional and had been a keen student studying a National Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Jane had already attained several distinctions and was a positive role model for her peers.
“Jane’s out-going nature and inherent sense of justice and fairness meant she shared wide popularity with students, tutors, work colleagues, friends and family.”
A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder and remains in police custody this afternoon, where he is currently being interviewed by officers.
The two homes in Chalvey remained cordoned off while officers complete their enquiries.
