STARGAZERS in Windsor were left stunned after mysterious bright lights illuminated the night sky, believing they may have seen a UFO.

Gobsmacked residents in the Dedworth area of Windsor were among the first to witness the unidentified flying object as it hovered above houses before flying off towards Slough.

Gino Gaudio, of Wolf Lane, rushed to record the strange episode on his mobile phone after he had noticed a number of bright orange orbs of light floating in the sky above his home at around 9.40pm on Monday last week.

He said: "I was looking outside and I thought to myself ‘what was that in the background?' and saw bright orange lights.

"Three of the lights seemed to be in a kind of formation and one was in the back. I tried to be rational and thought what it could be."

Cryptic sightings are often met with scepticism and astronomers remain uncertain as to the existence of UFOs, but the 49-year-old repair centre manager has been left convinced by his close encounter, despite the obvious proximity to Heathrow Airport.

He added: "It wasn't an aeroplane because they have red and white lights, it was not a firework and it was too high to be a street light. It sounds crazy, but the three of them moved so fast and then just disappeared. I just wonder if anyone else saw it."

Confirmed sightings of the festive UFO are starting to pile up as other Windsor residents have since come forward with their own tales of the unexpected.

Scott Parkinson, of Nelson Road, was setting off for a night out with friends when he caught sight of the floating phenomenon above nearby Monks Road at about 10.30pm.

The 21-year-old web designer said: "I looked up and saw about six floating things and before long there were about ten of them. The best way to describe them would be to say they looked like kid's lanterns.

"People are always sceptical but I've shown friends the video I took and they agree that it's very convincing. I'm sure there is something else out there."

I live in Iver in South Bucks. I first saw a UFO in mid November. This was just a single UFO like a glowing, but dim orange orb. It was travelling at a steady speed and at a constant height. It didn\'t make any noise nor did it flash. It was farely large. I watched it until it disappeared in the distance. It came from the slough area. No one believed me until a few weeks later I saw the exact same UFO only this time my husband was in. We ran ot to the garden and watched it for at least 10 minutes, util it disappeared in the distance. My daughter and her friend saw the same UFO on new years eve and her friend recorded it on video, on her phone. I have tried to research this and found a site where someone in America had seen something similar. The explanation for this UFO, by the National Weather Centre was that it was vapour contrails from planes and that the setting sun made them appear orange and orb-like. This could possibly be the case where I live as we are under the Heathrow flight path. What do you think!

I live in Iver Heath, Bucks and saw something on 11th Dec 08 at 9.30pm. It lasted about 5 mins in total but am still baffled by it. I was driving home along Bangors Road on my way home and saw two bright orange orbs flying toward me from north to south. I initially thought they were planes until I saw the size of them. I got out the car and they flew above me at speed from north to south and headed upward. Then from speed they both stopped dead and then drifted toward the moon. They hovered there for about 2 minutes then disappeared upward and out of sight. I have never seen any craft move in this fashion before and certainly not come to a sudden stop from speed and not make a sound. I took a video which can be seen on youtube under:- ufo sighting in Buckinghamshire. But I feel the video does not do justice to what I saw, wish I had started it sooner. I certainly didnt beleive in these sightings before, but I do now.

    To Jill:

Maybe the "drivers" of the vehicles put lights on their UFOs just like some people put rims on their car. Just to trick them out!

I am an ex pilot 52 years of age.

I was staying at my brothers house for a week over New Year, on 1st January 2009, location, Washington, Tyne & Wear, UK. At about 00:40h I went into the rear garden for a cigarette when I looked up I saw two bright oval shaped orange lights, heading in an south easterly direction, these were not Chinese balloons, helicopters, or fixed wing aircraft, the orange lights were steady and I discounted the possibility of military jet afterburners, the height of these UFO´s I would estimate at between 4000 and 7000 ft as they were travelling just below the cloud base, both UFO´s were maintaining the same speed, the second UFO flying behind and to the left of the leading UFO in the 8 o clock position, this second UFO accelerated to come alongside the first UFO, they both travelled together for a few seconds, then the leading UFO accelerated for a few seconds and then stopped, it seemed to hover and then accelerated vertically, as it travelled vertically through the cloud the orange glow could be seen to slowly disappear. The second UFO then travelled to the exact same spot as where the first UFO went vertical and then did the same, again the orange glow gradually disappeared through the cloud.

This was also witnessed by my partner and another member of my family living 1.5 miles away. The orange lights or glow looked like the typical orange colour of street lamps as seen from a distance.

The things people are discribing were spotted by us last night in slough. i was outside and they flew from the driection of windsor to high wycombe. it was a ball of golden light. and it seemed to slow then wiggle a little and it vanished and then reappeared. thru binoculars it was the same you could tell it was not an aircraft but could not work out what it was apart from this orb of golden light. did anyone else see this ? this was just a single one not 3 but it was not normal.
