Burnham celebrate the goal that put them into the play-off semi-final

IF Burnham Football Club progress through tonight’s (Tuesday) semi-final play-off they will be handed a home tie in the final on Saturday.

Last night Taunton Town overcame Paulton Rovers 4-1 to become the first team to reach Saturday’s Southern League Division One South & West promotion play-off final.

Because Burnham finished ahead of Taunton in the league standings they will host the final if they beat Swindon Supermarine.

This will be a huge boost to Dave Mudge’s team who would have had to face a gruelling trip to Somerset if Paulton had made the final.

However, Mudge will have some selection issues after three of his team that beat Lymington & New Milton on Saturday picked up injuries.

The Blues play Swindon tonight at The Gore, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham at 7.30pm.
