Delaford Colts pick up their sportsman award
THE Slough Soccer Combination and Mini Soccer Friendly Scheme held a joint awards ceremony at the Magnets Leisure Centre in Maidenhead on Sunday.
League winners and runners-up were awarded their trophies and there were also special Sportsmanship Awards voted for by each of the teams.
Guest of honour was Jim Atkins, chariman and life member of Berks & Bucks FA.
League secretary, Robin Woolman, said: "It has been an exceptional year. We had three county cup finalists in the U12s, U13s and U16s age groups.
“We had a succssful season despite the interuption of the severe wet weather over the winter and managed to conclude our programme, which culminated with the awards on Sunday."
The Slough Soccer Combination are looking for new teams at U11s and U17s age groups for the 2007/08 season. The league are looking to run an extra U17s division if they get enough teams.
