By Observer Sport
Slough Junior Jets U16s 6, Solent & Gosport 1
EDDIE Temple scored his first goal for Slough Jets Ice Hockey Club’s U16s side as they beat Solent & Gosport 6-1 on Saturday.
The Jets set out to play a tight defensive game and largely succeeded in keeping one of the league’s top goalscorers, Mitch Murray, quiet.
At the othe end, Slough were firing on all cylinders and it took just 37 seconds for Nick Ward to open the scoring with a nicely-taken chance assisted by Nathan Darmanin.
The next goal game from a similar passage of play, this time goal scored by Darmanin and assisted by Archie Hutchinson.
Guesting U14s player Temple then notched his first U16s goal with a short-handed strike before Frankie Lord gave Slough a 4-0 lead going into the final period.
Murray finally got the better of the Jets defence and goalie Kit Clarke during a Solent & Gosport powerplay, but Slough hit back within a minute through Darmanin before Jonny Bowman completed the scoring late on.
The U16s have now won four of their five games so far this season.
