THE Bracknell Bees struck an important psychological blow ahead of the EPL Cup final when they beat the Slough Jets on Sunday.

A close game saw the Bees victorious on penalty shots after 70 minutes of play could not separate the sides.

It was the culmination of a long weekend for the Jets, who needed overtime to beat Chelmsford Chieftains 4-3 on Saturday.

At the weeked Slough embarked upon a 15-day stint that will go a long way to deciding whether they finish the season with any silverware.

As well as needing to pick up the points in five tough English Premier Ice Hockey League fixtures, they face a two-legged EPL Cup final against close rivals Bracknell.

Slough will return to Bracknell on Thursday for the first leg of the final.
