Moria keeps import choice secret
By Observer Sport
SLOUGH Jets head coach Steve Moria will not reveal which combination of imports he is using for tonight's (Wednesday) EPL Cup final decider until the last minute.
Moria has already made his decision on which players will line-up against the Bracknell Bees, but wants to keep his opponents guessing and says all five Jets imports will warm up ahead of the game.
Meanwhile, the Bees will only skate with three imports after their player-coach Dwight Parrish picked up a 5+game penalty over the weekend and was subsequently suspended.
Moria said: "That doesn't affect our plans, but it should help us because he is an effective defenceman. If anything, we should be able to attack with more success."
As the final hours count down towards the game tonight, Moria is looking to foster a spirit of 'relaxed intensity' within the squad.
"I know those words don't work together," he said. "But that is the way I want it. I want the players to be relaxed, but to go into the game with an intensity."
The Jets take a 4-3 lead into the match after winning the first leg in Bracknell on Thursday last week.
Face-off is 7.45pm at Montem Ice Arena, Montem Lane, Slough.
