SLOUGH Town FC have been biting their nails as they await an FA announcement on what league they will be in next season.

Manager Derek Sweetman came close to pulling off a great escape but in the end the Rebels finished second bottom in the Southern League South & West Division but they may yet get a reprieve.

If they do not they will either be in the Hellenic League or the Spartan South Midlands League, where Beaconsfield SYCOB have just been promoted as champions.

Sweetman said on Wednesday afternoon: “The FA have been discussing the whys and wherefores, we are sitting here biting our nails, waiting to find out where we are going to be.

"We should find out later this evening."
