SLOUGH Town look to have been reprieved from relegation after the Southern League met last night.

Conference outfit, Halifax Town have been put into administration and if they do not to continue it gives clubs further down the Non League ladder a let off.

Slough manager Derek Sweetman said: "There's been some news but it needs to be confirmed by the FA tomorrow (Friday) but at this moment in time it looks like we've been reprieved.

"I'm like the cat that's got the cream at the moment."

Southern League chairman Ken Turner remarked: "The league constitution is as confirmed as far as it can be but there's some uncertainty about Halifax.

"It is in Halifax's hands but Slough will probably appear in the Southern League South & West Division - provisionally."
