THE New Windsor Youth Football Club Annual Football Tournament takes place at Hanover Way in Windsor this weekend. With more than 1,500 players in 184 teams, from as far afield as Reading, Oxford and London, now taking part, the event stretches over three days – Saturday, Sunday and Saturday, June 22.

The under-nines, under-11s and under-15s get their chance on Saturday, the following day it is the turn of the under-sevens, under-10s, under-12s and under-16s.

The remaining teams from the under-eights, under-13s, under-14s and veterans play the following week.

Club secretary Tony Oorloff said: “Every year our tournament gets a bit bigger and a bit better – and we’re proud of the way we help so many teams to have a really good time. So never mind Euro 2008, - come down to Hanover Way and you might just see some stars of Euro 2016 or Euro 2020.”
