SLOUGH are getting desperate for their first win of the season according to skipper Bobby Sher.
Nearly halfway through the campaign and last year’s runners-up are still yet to triumph and remain at the foot of Home Counties Premier League Division One.
Second from bottom, Falkland visit Upton Park tomorrow (Saturday) in what is a must win game for Slough.
“We are getting a bit desperate now, it’s not looking good for us,” commented Sher.
“But we’ve still got an opportunity to get out of it. It’s not like we’ve got two or three games left and we have to win them all to stay up, we’ve got 10. If we can win three or four games out of that 10 then we will survive.
“We will continue to work hard, if we can get a break and get that win we can go on from there.”
The captain is aware of how big the basement battle with Falkland is.
“Let me stress the importance of this Saturday,” he said. “It is a team in a similar situation to us, struggling down there near the bottom so they will be searching hard for a win but we are bottom, not them, so we have to win.
“This Saturday is a must win game for us, hopefully we can find that first win, we’ve got to up our game to get that win."
