Beaconsfield SYCOB battled to a deserved 1-0 victory over Uxbridge last night at Holloways Park.

The side's 2-1 defeat at Andover in Saturday's Southern League opener came as a huge disappointment to the club, and it was important to bounce back quickly.

And that's exactly what Jamie Jarvis' team did, with Stuart Swift's excellent left-foot drive in the 41st minute giving SYCOB their first three points of the season.

Despite some late pressure from the visitors, the Rams held on for the win, making Jarvis a satisfied man.

"I wasn't happy with how most of the lads played on Saturday and they knew that. I gave them a bit of a rollicking and they've come back with a performance like that, what can I say? I'm very happy," he said after the game.
