More injury worries for Rebels

Despite not having played for 14 days, Slough Town go into their match with Uxbridge on Saturday with a long list of injuries.
Town boss Derek Sweetman had anticipated a clean bill of health after their break from competitive action, but this has not been the case. “The week off hasn’t helped us as much as we’d hoped,” he said.
“The players out injured who were hoping to be back are still struggling and those injuries have turned out to be longer-term than expected. So the break didn’t do the job from that perspective.”
Amongst the walking wounded are Adam Dickens, Jamie Jackson, Laurence Brown, Byron Bubb and Steve Daly, with Luke Evans and Roy Gumbs also unavailable due to suspensions. Although some of these players have responded to treatment, they all remain doubts for Saturday.
“With some of these lads, they’ve been carrying injuries for a while and we’ve been strapping them up and sending them out - we may have to do that with one or two again at the weekend,” explains Sweetman.
“On the positive side, the lads trained well on Saturday and managed to keep the fitness levels up. Then we had a golf afternoon, which was a really good team bonding session.”
