Cinema Film Releases: Friday April 18th
Flashbacks of a Fool (15)
Starring: Daniel Craig and Harry Eden.
Daniel Craig plays a struggling Hollywood actor in a role far removed from the glamour of James Bond, the character that has made him a global superstar.
Indeed the director of this relatively low budget movie; Baillie Walsh, has acknowledged that without the involvement of Craig, the film would have been unlikely to have gone into production. Craig has combined his starring role with also being the executive producer.
Essentially the film explores Joe Scott's (Craig) emotions following the death of his best friend. This is coupled with the downward spiral of his career as a once successful actor. The story is told mostly through the use of flashbacks to Scott's childhood which help him put his current plight into perspective.
This movie proves that Craig is prepared to take risks in his career in a bid to expand his acting range. He has needed to take a break from the filming of the latest Bond movie; “ Quantum of Solace”, which is scheduled for release in October, in order to promote the movie.
In Bruges (18)
Starring: Colin Farrell, Ralph Fiennes, Brendan Gleeson.
Comedy drama with Farrell and Gleeson playing two inefficient hitmen who hide out in the Belgian town of Bruges after a job goes wrong in London.
The film chronicles their difficulty in adapting to the way of life and culture of the city and their efforts at fitting in as everyday tourists. Ken(Gleeson) begins to look at life from from a different perspective as he surprises himself by his enjoyment of the cultural pursuits the city has to offer and the beauty and splendour of Bruges. Ray(Farrell) finds himself detesting the place and wishing to leave as soon as it is deemed safe to return home.
Eventually their boss Harry(Fiennes) gets in contact with the pair which results in dramatically changing circumstances for all.

His estranged wife(Hudson) is not in favour of his desire to hunt for the treasure but eventually yields.Their marriage difficulties are brushed aside during their adventure as they experience the highs and lows of the treasure hunt.
