Built in 1727, The Burnham Beeches Hotel exudes an elegance that makes it perfect for a romantic dinner a deux. Polite, attentive staff are on hand to attend to your every need but discreet enough to give you a chance to enjoy conversation privately with your dining companions, while the chandeliers, soothing classical music and luxurious wood panelling in the dining room oozes understated sophistication.
The à la carte menu uses the best of what is in season to ensure a tempting treat. A separate lounge and bar menu is also available, with afternoon tea served between 2pm and 6pm.
For a sense of occasion - the main courses are brought to your table under a silver dome and unveiled with a flourish - you simply can't do better. We'd recommend the pot-roasted supreme of chicken on a sage bread and butter pudding (it sounds unusual but is lovely), with celeriac purée and Madeira reduction and the selection of British country cheeses, showing head chef John Dickson's loyalty to local, great quality produce.
