Stefanie Parry, who manages the freephone appointment booking line said: "In February we saw a 16% increase in the number of clients who had learned of nextstep through someone they know.

"The increase in word of mouth recommendations is testament to the valuable service we offer our clients."

The recent rise in unemployment has led to an overall increased demand for the nextstep service, with calls rising in February from the previous month by 10%.

Sue King, who manages the team of careers advisers in the Berkshire area said; "Whereas nextstep was once something of a well-kept secret, more and more clients are learning about the service through speaking to members of their family and to friends that we have helped.

"In the current climate, people appreciate the expert advice and guidance they get from nextstep to help them get back into learning and work."

As well as one-to-one appointments, nextstep runs CV workshops in this area.

To book an appointment or to secure a place on a CV workshop call freephone 0800 1954 700 weekdays 8am-6pm or send an email to senextstep@vtplc.com
