MULTI-MILLION pound plans to build a Morrisons in Langley have been deferred for consideration at a later date.
The application was recommended for refusal by planning officers and was due to be decided at a planning committee meeting tonight (Wednesday).
But the council has deferred the decision to ‘allow additional information to be considered’.
It will now go to a future planning committee.
Andrew Birtwistle, development executive at Morrisons, said: “Morrisons understands that its planning application for Langley is being deferred from tonight’s Planning Committee meeting and very much welcomes this decision.
“We understand the Planning Officers have some concerns and look forward to working with them to deliver a successful redevelopment of the site, with a ‘Fresh Format’ Morrisons foodstore bringing jobs, investment and wider benefits to the Langley community.”
