PRIMARY school pupils got their business hats on in a bid to raise money for charity.
The year six students at James Elliman Academy celebrated finishing their SATs exams by running a school fete on Thursday last week (9/7) which yielded more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes.
The students ran stalls such as hook-the-duck, popcorn stands and penalty shoot-outs, and were aided by shops in the area who donated items to help with the event, Natalie Dar, year six teacher at the school, said: “It was a really good day, and we raised a lot of money for a very worthy cause.
“The children had done their SAT exams and had a few weeks left at primary school before heading off to secondary school, so we wanted to come up with an idea for them to work on a fun project.
“They loved having their own responsibilities in their stalls, and all 700 students at the school attended, as well as parents later in the day.
