AN ELDERLY woman was attacked by two men while they attempted to burgle her home.

The 73-year-old victim was at home in Swallow Street, Iver, at about 10.10am on Tuesday (7/7) when there was a knock at the door.

When she opened it two men forced their way in.

One went straight upstairs, while the second man held the woman, punching and kicking her, and throwing her to the floor.

The victim, who was left with bruising and cuts, managed to shout for help and the two men then ran out of the house.

Police patrols in the Swallow Street area have been increased, however house-to-house enquiries and leaflet drops have so far failed to trace any witnesses.

The second man is white, aged 25-30, is 5ft 9ins, of stout build, with a black short beard, a flat face, and was wearing a sleeveless high visibility jacket.

Investigating officer, PC Paul Bridgeworth of Local CID based at Taplow police station, said: “This was extremely distressing for the victim, who is 73 years of age.

“I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this robbery to contact police immediately; you can do this by calling 101 or visiting a police station.

“We have detailed descriptions of the offenders and I would urge anyone who thinks they know the offenders to search their conscience and contact the police.
