A HUGE project, set to change the image of Slough town centre, has been delayed yet again.
Following much debate, Slough Borough Councillors decided they are still not happy with the design of plans for a new shopping centre - a project that would mean the partial demolition, extension and refurbishment of both The Queensmere and The Observatory shopping centres in Slough's High Street.
During the planning committee meeting, which took place last night (Thursday), councillors expressed particular concerns regarding one of the five proposed towers.
Cllr James Swindlehurst said that the view of it was 'too imposing' and he suggested there should be fewer floors in the first tower that will be seen from MacKenzie Square, and additional floors in the towers behind in order to make up for the loss.
The process of making the amendments means it is unlikely to head back to planning committee for another six month's time.
