A close run parish election has seen two Independent members elected to Colnbrook Parish Council.
Raymond Jackson, who is chairman of the village's Neighbourhood Action Group and a governor of Pippins School, polled 233 votes. Fellow Independent Paul Brooks polled 221 - just beating Labour candidate Anup Babuta by one vote.
Four other candidates stood. They were Gurcharan Singh Manku who polled 160 and Bharat Mittal (131) who both stood without labels, Naveed Rana (196) who stood as a Labour candidate and Jaswinder Kaur Reehall (71) whostood as Independent.
The election followed the dramatic disappearance from the council of Avtar Cheema and her daughter after they failed to sign the necessary acceptance documents after being elected back in May.
