AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a man is believed to have been threatened and hit with a handgun.

At around 2.45pm on Wednesday, the victim, a 24-year-old man, was in Wexham Road at its junction with Petersfield Avenue with another man and a woman.

He was approached by his assailant who threatened him with what is thought to have been a handgun and hit him with it.

The victim sustained a small cut to his head and did not require hospital treatment.

The offender is Asian, aged in his twenties, stocky build, average height and was wearing dark clothing.

A 21-year-old man from Slough was arrested in connection with this incident on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

He was arrested on Wednesday and has been bailed pending further enquiries until October 2.
