WONDERFUL shapes emerged at Slough Central Library when children were let loose on chunks of terracotta clay.

It was the latest of a series of Expressive Art workshops run at libraries across the Slough area by Burnham artist Carol Phillips over the course of the summer holidays.

The workshops have been sponsored by the YMCA.

Visiting seven to 11-year-olds tried out their skills with terracotta clay on Friday last week.

Miss Phillips said: “I planned the workshops and the YMCA funded it all.

“They have ranged from contemporary art to monoprinting.

“We are having our last sessions this week with an introduction to graffiti which is aimed at older children up to 16.”

The last session of the summer is being held this afternoon (Friday) at Slough Central Library, in High Street, between 3pm and 5pm.
