THAMES Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Maidenhead.

At around 1.35am yesterday (29/8) a black Audi A4 sport cabriolet was travelling in Drift Road near the junction with A330, Ascot Road, when it left the carriageway.

A 49-year-old man from Maidenhead, who had been travelling in the vehicle, died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The A330 was closed while officers investigated the circumstances of the collision and reopened shortly after 7am yesterday (29/8).

Investigating officer PC Melanie Todd, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicle during the evening prior to the collision or witnessed the collision itself.

“This car is particularly distinctive due to it having a dark red soft top roof. If you have any information which could assist with enquiries please speak to police.”
