POLICE have revealed their latest crime figures for 2015 showing a noticeable rise in numbers in the majority of areas.

Police in Slough released their figures showing that violent crime had risen by 29% in 2014/15 compared to 2013/14, but police said in most cases no injuries were caused.

There has also been six more sexual offences reported and six extra robbery offences reported over the same time periods.

Detective Chief Inspector (DCI) Jim Reeves said: “We see this rise in numbers as a positive thing, as it shows that more people are prepared to report a crime.

"The numbers could have dropped, but that Nnumbers have dropped by a third for burglary and theft from a person has also fallen by 24%."

DCI ReevesHe added: “There is still a lot of work to do to try and bring the numbers down., and We’re working with groups and organisations in Slough to help this matter.”
