POLICE are urging owners of mopeds and motorbikes to ensure their vehicles are kept secure after several thefts in Denham.

Four mopeds were stolen from different home addresses overnight between Thursday and Sunday.

There were also three incidents of non-dwelling burglaries in the area overnight during the same period, with offenders stealing bicycles and tools from a parked vehicle and outbuildings.

Each of the stolen mopeds had been left unsecured outside homes in Green Tiles Lane, North Orbital Road and Wyatts Covert.

Sergeant Lucy Price, from the Gerrards Cross Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Given that these thefts involve mopeds that had been left outside properties, we are urging owners to ensure their vehicles are kept secure at all times and especially overnight.

“If you do not have a garage or cannot keep your vehicle out of view, padlock it to something immovable.

“There have also been a small number of non-dwelling burglaries during the same time period, which have included offenders smashing a car window and stealing a bicycle from the vehicle. Residents are urged not to leave valuables on view, whether in a car or outbuilding.

“I would like to reassure the local community that we are taking these incidents seriously and are increasing patrols in the area."
