RAILWAY lineside residents between West Drayton and Langley stations are being warned to expect some noisy nights over the course of the weekend.
Crossrail have been installing foundations for overhead line structures between West Drayton and Maidenhead, and will continue this work until February 2016.
Workers usually use vibration method, but where the ground conditions are tougher, the vibration method is not strong enough and a stronger but noisier technique is employed to complete the work.
This work mostly needs to be done during the night while the trains are not running to provide a safe working area for engineers.
So, there will be work going on at the following times in the following places over the course of the weekend:
-Between West Drayton station and Langley station tonight (Friday) from 11.30pm to 6am on Saturday
-Between Thorney Lane Golf Course and Langley station on Saturday from 11pm until 11am on Sunday
This work is in addition to other work associated with Crossrail which will go on until at least February next year between West Drayton and Maidenhead.
The overhead lines will allow Crossrail to electrify the route to 'deliver faster, greener, quieter and more reliable journeys' from 2019.
