AN MP has criticised the Home Office’s response to the needs of her constituents.
Following a report by the Parliamentary and Health Ombudsman on complaints about government departments, the Rt Hon Fiona Mactaggart, MP for Slough, has pointed out that nearly 70% of complaints made by residents in the town against the Home Office were upheld.
Ms Mactaggart said: “I hope this report will encourage more people to make complaints about bad service and maladministration, and that this may encourage the Home Office to improve their work, and their response to complaints."
“If constituents have had bad treatment from government departments, I encourage them to get in contact with me to make complaints, I will always try to help.”
The Home Office is headed up by Maidenhead MP and home secretary Theresa May.
