SHOPPERS in South Bucks will be able to park for free on the two Saturdays before Christmas.

South Bucks District councillors have decided to allow free parking again this year to support businesses during their busiest trading time. Parking will be free in all South Bucks District Council (SBDC) owned car parks on December 12, and December 19.

Councillor Luisa Sullivan, SBDC portfolio holder for environment, said: “We have offered free parking in the run up to Christmas for the past few years now and I’m delighted that we’re running the initiative again this year.

“We know that Christmas is an important time for local traders and we hope that free parking will encourage more people to shop locally and support the businesses on their doorsteps.”

Residents and visitors are being reminded that the council has recently changed its cashless phone parking provider to RingGo. Those wishing to pay for their parking using their mobile phone will need to register using the RingGo app or at www.RingGo.co.uk.
