A PENSIONER has died after being hit by a car on a busy Slough road this afternoon.
Ambulance crews and police officers were called to Wellington Street, outside the Tesco supermarket, at around 2.25pm this afternoon after a 73-year-old man was hit by a silver Mercedes travelling eastbound, thought to be moving between 30 and 40mph.
An ambulance, a rapid response team, an air ambulance and an officer all attended the crash, but the man, confirmed as being from Slough, died at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
The road was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident.
Police have said any witnesses to the collision should call 101 quoting the reference number URN 731 26/11 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
