ENTREPRENEURIAL students have taken to the internet to test their business skills in an online game.

Last Tuesday, a group of 120 children in Year 8 at Ditton Park Academy were introduced to the online business simulation game, Mosaic Enterprise Challenge in which they will compete against other teams to win prizes.

Nancy Lalor, Learning to Work operations manager, said: "It's the first time Ditton Park has hosted and it's always good to work with a new school.

"It's very much around introducing them to the world of work, the dynamics and the concept of working. It's that entrepreneurial streak we are trying to bring out which will be useful whether they are working for themselves or working for a company and the online game is around that."

The day was run by Learning to Work in partnership with CA technologies, a company based in Datchet.

Students split into teams and will continue playing the game that replicates real world business until midnight on February 12 and they also have to fill in an ethical questionnaire.

Ms Lalor added: "CA technologies bring to the table that ethical side of business and are able to ask the students what they think ethical really means to them and how it works in business.

"I think CA have a fantastic angle that the children can learn from."
