A SLOUGH man has been arrested after a cyclist was hit by a car.

The 25-year-old was arrested in the early hours of this morning (Thursday) on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent following the incident on Monday.

At around 2.30pm a black Volkswagen Golf was seen to mount a pavement in St Andrews Way, Cippenham, hitting a cyclist.

The cyclist is described as white, approximately 6ft, early to mid 20s and of stocky build. He was wearing a black beanie hat, grey hooded top/jumper, black jogging bottoms and black trainers.

Investigating officer, Det Con Christian Parker, said “I am appealing to the cyclist involved in this incident to get in touch with us as matter of urgency, as not only would we like to check on his welfare, but we would like to speak to him as part of our on-going investigation.

“I am also keen to speak to any witnesses who may hold vital information. In particular, I would like to hear from an older man who was seen in the vicinity at the time of the incident.”

The 25-year-old man remains in police custody.
