POLICE have moved to reassure residents after a man was stabbed several times as he sat in a parked car with his family.

The man, in his late 40s, had been stabbed in the abdomen several times at around 3.40pm yesterday (Wednesday) in Northern Road, Slough.

The injuries caused heavy bleeding and he was taken to Wexham Park Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A second victim, aged in his 20s, sustained a stab wound to his arm which required hospital treatment. He has since been discharged.

Detective inspector Penny Mackenzie, from the Domestic Abuse Investigations Unit at Windsor, said: “This was a very serious incident which took place in broad daylight with one man being stabbed several times. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.

“Both victims, who are related, were in a parked vehicle with other family members, when they were approached and assaulted by the offender.

“I am very grateful for the help we have received so far from the local community, although I am still keen to hear from anyone who was in that area between 3-4pm yesterday.

She added: “I understand that an incident of this nature will naturally leave people feeling concerned. However, I would like to reassure them that whilst we continue to keep an open mind with regards to the motive, there is a possibility that this was not a random incident.”

Two people, a 46-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman from Slough, are currently in police custody having been arrested on conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm with intent.

Police are attempting to locate a third person in relation to the incident.

The offender is described as Asian or mixed race, in his teens and of slim to athletic build. It is believed that he has short dark hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing. He may have used a bicycle to travel to the area.
