A JEALOUS ex-boyfriend who threatened to kill his former partner as he smothered her with a pillow has been jailed.

Lee Bader, 30, admitted breaching a restraining order by being at the victim’s father’s house, as well as causing actual bodily harm when he used a pillow as a weapon.

Bader, of St George’s Crescent, Slough, also admitted a charge of battery because he punched the mother of his children ‘as hard as he could’ in a jealous rage, with all offences taking place between December 4 and 6, 2014.

Prosecuter Alisdair Smith told how the victim had been in a relationship with abusive Bader for years before they split up in September 2014 when he went to prison for an earlier offence.

When he was released the young mother had met and married another man which sent Bader into a spiral of ‘sexual jealousy’.

The court then heard how he threatened to have his victim’s children taken away by social services and had her evicted by her landlord so that she was forced to live in bed and breakfast accommodation with her four children.

Mr Smith said: “She met and married somebody else and when Bader was released he began to stalk her, turning up at her work and her home.

“He also got in contact with the ex-wife of the victim’s new husband while the pair were in a custody battle. The result was that her new husband left her to go back to his ex-wife so that he could continue to see his own children.”

He added: “He [Bader] was angry she wouldn’t have sex with him. When an advert for a gym came on the television he said to her ‘if I had muscles would you want me?’ and she said ‘maybe’.

“She says the defendant then went mental. He grabbed her around the throat. She started screaming and he told her to ‘shut her mouth’.

“He then said he was going to ‘kill her’ then put a pillow over her mouth and kept it there. Only when she stopped struggling did he stop pressing the pillow to her face.”

The victim suffered a swollen hand and her teeth had been imprinted into her face inside her mouth. Bader also threatened to ‘put a glass through her face’ as she ignored him the next day, and proceeded to punch her in the arm.

Sentencing, judge Alexia Durran said: “You desired to have control over her, borne out of sexual jealousy.

“You deliberately picked up the pillow and you were prepared to run the risk of harm by holding it on her face.”

Bader was jailed at Reading Crown Court on Friday last week for four weeks for the breach of a restraining order on December 4, 2014 and 16 months for causing actual bodily harm, to run consecutively.

He was also sentenced to four months in prison for each breach of December 5 and 6, 2014 as well as two months imprisonment for battery, all to run concurrently, making a total of 21 months in jail.
