AN AMATEUR dramatics group had a record year with sold-out shows at its annual pantomime.

Iver Heath Drama Club sold out four of its six performances of Dick Whittington at Iver Heath Village Hall in St Margaret’s Close, and even had to turn people away on the second weekend of performances.

Carol Campling, club secretary, said: “We had record profits for our small club and this will help ensure we are able to carry on for another year as we survive solely from our ticket sales and whatever fundraising we do during the year.

“The cast and crew were brilliant. We have some very talented, hardworking people in our group at the moment and the comments and reviews we have received from so many people who came to watch it is testament to that.

“Our club is definitely going from strength to strength and long may it continue as we begin to think about our two summer shows.”

The youth section of the club will be doing a one act play directed by Matt Streuli, while the adults will be performing an original play written and directed by member Lee Hall.
