A RISING opera star will celebrate her birthday with a album-launch concert.

Jennifer Coleman, from Burnham, will play tracks from her new album Songs of Love at St Peter’s Church in Church Street, Burnham on Friday, April 29, from 7.30pm.

The soprano, who is studying for a masters at the Royal College of Music in London, has organised the concert to help raise funds for her studies, as well as reach out to new audiences to expose them to classical music.

She said: “The music in the concerts will be a real mix. Half will be taken from my new album Songs of Love, but I am also going to try out some repertoire that I have been working on at the Royal College.

“Classical music should be accessible to everyone. My mission is to share a piece of my heart with as many people as possible through song.”

The album is a collection of songs from around the world that combine the joy and pain of many types of love.

Tickets to the album launch concert can be bought on the door and cost £10 for adults and £5 for students and children under 16.
