POLICE are trying to track down a good Samaritan who aided the victim of a robbery.

A 40-year-old woman was robbed at around 9.20pm on Thursday last week in Grays Road having made her way from Slough train station.

She was struck from behind by an offender. This caused her to fall to the ground and, in doing so, she lost grip of her handbag which was then emptied of its contents on to the floor.

The victim realised that her purse had been stolen.

Two members of the public who came across the victim helped her. One of them, a Polish man, left without leaving his details whilst the second man stayed with the victim until her partner arrived to the scene and took her to Slough police station where the robbery was reported.

Det Sgt John Braddy, of Slough CID, said: “I am keen to speak to the Polish man who came to the woman’s aid, as he may hold vital information which could assist our investigation.

“He is 5ft 10ins, stocky with a bald head, and was wearing a blue Adidas hooded top with jeans and trainers.”

He added: “The victim does not believe that she was struck with an implement from behind, but was either punched or pushed with force.”

The victim sustained a stiff neck and tenderness to her cheek and forehead. She did not require hospital treatment.

The victim’s purse contained a sum of cash and a bank card.

A description of the offender is unknown at this time.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact Det Sgt Braddy via 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
