'GET involved, try new things and see where it takes you' is the message from a 12-year-old volunteer.
The 13th Slough Sikh Scouts, based at Khalsa Primary School, spent the day teaming up with charitable organisation, Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team (SWAT), handing out food to homeless people in London, on Sunday.
Harjap Singh, one of the scouts getting involved was filmed during the day.
He said: "It's the first time I've ever done anything like this and it's been quite a pleasant experience."
The trip was part of Seva - an important aspect of Sikhism which sees people giving back to the community through selfless acts.
Balwinder Randhawa, chairperson of the scout group, said: "We do quite a bit of fundraising throughout the year and have donated funds to Thames Valley Hospice as well as SWAT but we wanted to be hands on as well. It was Seva for people who need support."
She said: "The scouts were so enthusiastic, it was fantastic. They really got involved.
"They found what they did was really worthwhile and there's a need. It felt good being involved."
Harjip had a message for other young people thinking about getting involved with a similar activity.
He said: "Get involved in charities. It may seem like something you wouldn't usually do but just give it a try, try new things and see where it takes you."
