A youthful grandmother who underwent surgery for breast cancer last year will be taking part in this year's London MoonWalk with her daughter and a group of friends.

They will be joining 17,000 women and a few brave men, walking in the trademark decorated bras on Saturday, May 14 on Clapham Common.

The Langley based team is calling itself 'Breast Friends'.

Leading the team is Kim Kettle, 47, of Torridge Road, Langley, mother of two and a recent grandmother.

Mrs Kettle, a speech and language therapist at Lynch Hill School, Slough, said: "In July I discovered a lump in my right breast and went to get it checked, which I had done several times in the past. However this time it was a little different.

"On August 11 the consultant informed me that I had Grade 2 invasive breast cancer. Not the best news.

"Since then I've been on an arduous journey involving surgery, clinics and radiotherapy but am happy to say, thanks to my friends and family and people like this breast cancer charity my journey will end happily and cancer free.

"Therefore, I have upped the ante and with the support of my daughter Jade and friends Chris, Lynda, Tasha and Sue we have decided to give a little more this year and walk a marathon - the whole 26.2 miles."

The friends were training in Windsor at the weekend and could not resist taking a few 'selfies' while they were there.

They hope to reach a target of £600.
