SENIOR citizens enjoyed “the best day out” with a sunshine-filled trip to the beach.
Around 50 people were taken down to Eastbourne beach thanks to a day trip organised by Slough Senior Citizens Group, on Sunday.
In the middle of celebrating its 10th anniversary year, founder of the group, Vijaya Gupta, said they organise trips every year and have been to this spot twice.
He said: “It gives people a chance to get away from their home and we organise and we take care of everything.
“Isolation is a very serious problem and on these trips it gives people the opportunity to make new friends.”
Mr Gupta added: “Everybody felt free. It was a very good day. It was one of the best days - people could paddle in the sea, gossip with friends, people just enjoyed themselves.
“We want to give people more opportunities to socialise and we are proud to say we are looking after people.”
As part of the group’s anniversary year they have been organising a number of events for residents to take part in, including fitness classes, yoga, tea mornings and lots more.
