A MAN was found with serious facial injuries and is believed to have been the victim of an assault by a group of men.

At about midnight on Saturday into Sunday, a 47-year-old white man was found injured in Wellington Street, Slough, by an ambulance crew.

He suffered multiple fractures to his face, severe swelling to his left eye and grazes to his ribs.

Police believe that the man may have been the victim of an assault by a group of four or five men.

There is no description of the offenders at this stage of the investigation, nor is it known exactly where the assault took place.

He was treated at Wexham Park Hospital and later Frimley Park Hospital.

Investigating officer, Det Con James Rocks of CID Operations based at Maidenhead police station, said: “The man was found with extremely serious injuries that are consistent with an assault.

“I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward, particularly if you saw an assault in the vicinity of Wellington Street, or saw an in injured man in that area.
