A 'COLOUR The Coach' competition is being launched - a fantastic art competition giving kids the chance to see their favourite landmark splashed across the side of a National Express coach.

National Express is calling on Slough children to enter the national art competition by drawing their favourite local landmark.

The best design, as chosen by professional artist Richard Berner, will be turned into a one-off livery and featured on one of National Express’s iconic white coaches and each winner will also receive a £50 cheque.

The nation-wide colouring competition showcases the amazing landmarks people can see up and down the UK while giving kids the chance to get their designs seen by thousands of people.

Mr Berner, 30, produces designs ranging from children’s book illustrations to intricate and surreal paintings.

He said: “I’m really please to launch this fantastic competition in Slough and I can’t wait to see all the creativity and original designs produced by local kids. What a great opportunity to proudly watch your design of your favourite landmark rolling across the region on a moving canvas.”

Mr Berner has advised youngsters in Slough to look around their own area and pick out something eye catching or inspiring. Giving advice to competition hopefuls, he added: “I want kids to put their own original style and stamp on their work so whatever their favourite landmark is, give it your own personal flavour.”

‘Colour the Coach’ is open to children aged five-15-years-old and entrants should simply draw their favourite landmark on an A4 sheet of paper using whatever drawing materials they want.

Entrants have until Monday, June 27, to send in an entry to National Express.

Entries to the competition must be landscape designs on A4 paper and need to be sent to National Express Coach Art Competition, National Express House, Mill Lane, Birmingham, B5 6DD.
