GOLFERS are being urged to get involved in raising money for charity while enjoying a bit of competitive fun.

Teams of three can take part in the annual Chairman’s Charity Golf Day at The South Buckinghamshire 18 hole Colt/Hawtree course in Stoke Poges, on Friday, September 16, to raise funds for the Chairman’s Community Fund.

Cllr Duncan Smith, chairman of South Bucks District Council, said: "The charity golf day is an annual tradition and I am very proud to be a part of it once again.

“I would like to invite all local golfers to get a team together, dust off those clubs and come along and support this fantastic day.

"Even if you aren’t an avid golfer, but would like to take part, please do sign up and join in the fun, everyone is welcome. This is not The Masters!”

The cost of entry is £165 per team, which includes breakfast, 18 holes of golf and a three-course lunch. The day will commence at approximately 8am and includes lunch, prize giving and an auction. Teams will be given a free practice round before the charity golf day, plus a goodie bag on the day.

There is a limit of 18 teams, so enter soon to avoid disappointment.

The day is sponsored by Berkeley Homes (Oxford and Chiltern) Ltd and is in aid of the Chairman’s Community Fund which last year raised more than £4,000 for local charities including Padstones, South Bucks Hospice, Rennie Grove Hospice Care and the Stoke Poges Society.

Further sponsorship is also being sought along with donations for the raffle and auction. Sponsorship boards are a great way to advertise your company while supporting a worthwhile cause.
