TWO incidents are being linked after robbers wearing motorbike helmets raided two stores.
The Co-op in Elmshott Lane in Slough and Tesco Express in High Street, Burnham, were both targeted on Monday.
Police were called to the Co-op at around 9.45pm after staff reported that the two offenders entered the store and demanded the keys for the tills.
They threatened staff with a knife and stole cash, before fleeing the scene on a motorbike.
Officers were also called to Tesco Express, after staff reported two offenders, again wearing motorcycle helmets, entered the store at 10.20pm, walked over to the till which was not staffed and stole cash.
The offenders apparently arrived at the shop on what appeared to be an off-road motorcycle, and they loitered outside for about 10 minutes before entering.
Detective Inspector Nicky Hurdley of Maidenhead CID said: “Detectives from Burnham and Slough are working together to identify the perpetrators and are appealing for witnesses to both incidents and sightings of the motorcycle, as well as any identification of the offenders.
“Fortunately there were no injuries caused during the incidents, but this was clearly a very frightening experience for the staff involved and we are keen to locate and arrest the individuals involved at the earliest opportunity.”
