STUDENTS celebrated their achievements at a Prize Giving ceremony, highlighting their hard work and commitment.

Staff and students at Upton Court Grammar School, located in Lascelles Road, held their annual Prize Giving ceremony on Thursday (14/7), recognising the academic achievement of students in Years 7 to 10 with certificates of commendation for each subject in the school curriculum, as well as excellence awards for literacy and for outstanding contribution to the life of the school.

Mercedes Hernandez Estrada, school principal, said: “Today we paid tribute to those who, since 1912, have contributed to making this school a centre of excellence and celebrated the achievements of the remarkable young people who have the pleasure of having in our school.”

A number of awards for excellence in literacy were also given out and Juhi Mistry aged 11, and Sanabil Bader, 15-years-old, were awarded the prestigious Principal’s Excellence Award - for students who vastly contribute to school life, raise money for charity and present themselves as excellent role models.
